1. Fights inflammation
Bromelain is an enzyme that has anti-inflammatory properties. Bromelain helps the body get rid of toxins by fighting off inflammation which impacts all the tissues and organs in the body. Regular consumption of pineapple can help to treat mild forms of arthritis and sports injuries by reducing inflammation and pain.

Yes, vision. Pineapple contains beta-carotene and vitamin A that good for eyesight. Data reported in a study published in the Archives of Ophthalmology indicates that eating 3 or more servings of pineapple per day may lower your risk of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), the primary cause of vision loss in older adults.

Research published in the journal Planta Medica found that bromelain was superior to the chemotherapy drug 5-fluorauracil in treating cancer in an animal study.

Liquid Detox Drink:
Recipe for a 32 ounce jar: 2 pineapple spears (approximately 1” x 4”) + 1 sprig (6-9 leaves) of mint. 6 cucumber slices.
Fill jar with water. Infuse in the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight. Strain before serving and enjoy the energy you will throughout the day!
Green Smoothies & Green Drinks Learn to Love Green Juicer not required! Green smoothies work beautifully in a Vitamix or high speed blender. Sweeten it Up. Sweet fruit like apple, pear and pineapple can be very overpowering – which makes them perfect for pairing with your greens. So even though the green color may stand out when you sip – the flavor will be sweet and vibrant. A banana works WONDERS as well. Water it Down. Don’t forget to add water! Blend your greens first in a bit of cold water to pulverize them and thin them out. If blending thick leafy greens like chard or kale, this works wonders to thin out your drink. Also, ‘water down’ your juice by adding cucumber, celery, ripe pear and even watermelon or other melons.
Start Small. You don’t need to drink enormous amounts to reap the benefits of greens. All you really need is a glass of this stuff to get a shot of antioxidants, electrolytes and energy. So while you can drink as much as you’d like – don’t feel bad about starting small! One small glass of green drink can easily have a few servings of veggies in it! Add Zest. If your juice tastes “grassy” or “muddy,” you can counteract it with sweetness….but you can also add some zest! This can be in the form of an acid, spice, or warmth. Try fresh ginger, lemon juice, orange juice, jalapeno, cayenne, tart green apple, grapefruit, sweet sharp beet, mint (my favorite) and more. Give it some zest and you won’t notice the grassy undertones. And remember, it takes time! Give it a few tries, on different days, under different conditions. Try it after a long workout or run. Those salty green juice flavors may be just what your body craves!
Greens Drinks/Smoothies Recipes :
Most of these recipes make two servings. Adjust on the fly to make as much as you need! No need to get picky with measurements – just have fun with it!
Basic Green Smoothie Template:
2 fruits or 1 ½ cups frozen fruit 1-2 cups of greens ½ - 1 cup cold water.
Basic Green 1/2 cup water 1 small apple ½ cup frozen fruit 1-2 cups greens.
Basic Chocolate Protein:
1 cup unsweetened coconut, hemp or almond milk 1/2 frozen banana 1 scoop chocolate greens protein powder (Amazing Grass or Garden of Life Raw Protein)
1/2 cup water juice from 1/2 a lemon 1 orange 1-2 cups greens Blend ingredients with water until a smooth consistency is created. Serve over ice if you like it cold!
Sweet & Sassy Green Juice:
1 cup cucumber 1 cup spinach 2 tsp fresh ginger, peeled 1 green apple 1 peeled kiwi 1/2 lemon, juiced 1 lime juiced Add a little cold water and spinach to the blender. Starting at low speed, mix until smooth. Gradually moving to a higher speed, adding the remaining ingredients.
Morning Green Drink:
1 cup cold water 1 head organic romaine lettuce, chopped 1 stalk organic celery (about 1 1/2 cups) 2-3 cups of chopped spinach 1 organic apple 1 cup chopped pineapple 1 organic banana 2 tbsp of fresh lemon juice Blend the romaine and spinach with water until smooth. Gradually moving to a higher speed, add the celery apple, and pineapple. Add banana and lemon juice last.
Morning Green Drink 2.0
1 head romaine lettuce 1 large cucumber 1 stalk celery 4 leaves kale 1 Banana 1 whole grapefruit, peeled 1 cup cold water Blend in your high speed blender.
Piña Colada 4-6 oz unsweetened coconut milk 2 cups bunch baby spinach 1 banana 5 sprigs fresh mint 1 cup fresh/frozen pineapple chunks Place spinach and mint in blender with coconut milk and process on high until liquid. Add pineapple, banana, and ice and blend until smooth.
1cup fresh/frozen mango 1 banana 2 handfuls baby spinach 1 cup water 4 fresh mint leaves Blend spinach and mint with water; add banana and mango and blend until smooth.

LEMON DETOX DRINK RECIPE
MY MORNING LEMON DETOX DRINK
I do little detoxes every day. I drink this lemon detox drink every morning. On days that I oil pull, I oil pull first, then drink this. There are many variations on this lemon detox drink and you can mix it up however you want. I have tons more energy on days that I drink this in the morning.
MIX ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar (it has to be raw, unfiltered, with the mother)
Juice from 1 lemon (I like this citrus juicer / squeezer)
1-2 tbsp. Honey (raw and local is preferred, if unavailable, this one is great) I prefer Makuna Honey
Water – You can dilute this as strong or as weak as you prefer. I usually add about 1/4 cup water.
BENEFITS OF EACH INGREDIENT IN THE LEMON DETOX DRINK:
Apple Cider Vinegar (acv) has lots of minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. It has to be raw, unfiltered, and with the mother. You will see a dark, cloudy substance in your jar. That’s the mother. Here’s a bit about the mother:
The mother is the result of natural enzymes and minerals in the vinegar.
The mother is killed when the vinegar is over processed, over heated, pasteurized, filtered, and altered.
The mother is used to make more vinegar (hence the name “mother”).
You can eat, drink, & use the mother topically. It’s very safe and nutritious.
ACV is great for digestion. If you suffer from indigestion, don’t get commercial antacids. Drink acv daily instead. . Read more about the many health benefits of vinegar here. Here are some benefits of acv:

Cayenne Pepper: Lots of good stuff in this little spice.

Honey: It is ideal that you use raw LOCAL honey. Honey is made by bees from pollen. My favorite is Makuna Honey. So you want local pollens in your system. It will help tremendously with seasonal allergies. Since you are ingesting what you are reacting to from allergies, you are building an immunity. Raw honey has probiotics which are great for digestion. If you do not like the taste of the vinegar & lemons, add honey to sweeten the drink.
